Amazing socks!

Cozy Socks
These are great socks for the cooler months. They are warm, and they stay up. The colors are very nice. They fit me well, but I do think they will fit only people with slim to average lower legs--they are snug.

These socks are amazing!!!! Yes, it is a luxury to have "cashmere" socks, but it's the first time in my life that I don't have to deal with freezing feet. I'm extremely happy to have come across these, that I now own 6 pairs!!!! My plan is to buy one pair a month and have happy, warm, feet for life!!!!
And, because your feet don't sweat, they never smell - ENJOY!!!!

I love the fact that these socks actually stay up, in addition to being warm and comfortable. I have had a hard time finding knee socks that stay up without being uncomfortably tight. These fill the bill, in addition to keeping me warm. Chilly shins are no fun.

How high is the ankle sock? Is the scrunched down version (in the picture) the ankle, and the pulled tight to knee one the other? The pictures and description don't clarify length.
The ankle sock is more of a long crew sock. If I measure from top of flats to top of sock, I get 8”; from top of socks to my heel is appx 10.5”. My ankles are neither skinny nor wide, but I’m tall. As you walk, the socks scrunch an inch or so, but not down to the ankle. Hope this makes sense. :)

The care section for these says they should be hand washed. Does everyone really hand wash these socks, or can they be washed on delicate...?
I hand wash once when new to soften these socks before wearing. Then I machine wash on delicate and line dry. Some of my GH cashmere socks are a few seasons old, so machine washing works for me. Hope this helps.

How have you improved socks' quality/durability this season?
I recently ordered 3 more pairs of cashmere socks and hope the problems I exerienced in 2011 and early 2012 -- threadbare heels and bottoms; holes near toes -- which reviewers also voiced, have been solved. These socks are warm, luxurious and lovely, but I want them to last longer than 2-3 months! Thank you.
Following up yet again! Garnet Hill has done an outstanding job making sure these cashmere socks are reinforced very well in the toe and heel. I wore these constantly for months after a serious car accident last year, and nothing beats their softness, warmth or comfort. I ordered more ankle-length socks when they hit the website last month, and am wearing and washing them with no problems. The cashmere content remains the same.
Thanks to GH for offering the beautiful frost gray and the pink (really blush) colors this season, in addition to more traditional colors. (Please bring back the navy marl!) The ankle-length socks look great with ankle boots and loafers, and are perfect to sleep in. To anyone on the fence about buying: Do it before I deplete the inventory. These are lovely, quality socks that should last a few seasons.

They will scrunch down pretty well, but there still may just be too much length for the look you are going for. However, the ankle sock would likely be too short.
