Women's Cashmere Ankle Socks 4.4 5 191 191
New York Winter New York. February. 2015. Jennifer is happy. Need I say more? March 6, 2015
Decline in quality I have been purchasing cashmere socks from Garnet Hill for years. In the past they have been thick, soft and warm. This year they are so thin. I will be returning. March 5, 2015
wonderfully warm No other socks compare for warmth and softness. I wear them on the coldest days, and also to bed on the coldest nights! They are indispensable little luxuries. February 18, 2015
warm and comfortable avoid the dryer - they shrink but they're good quality nonetheless February 18, 2015
cozy great to wear on cold winter days; lets me keep the heating oil bill down! February 8, 2015
Nice socks I love cashmere socks in the cold weather. My only complaint is that it says "ankle" socks and they are way up my calf. If you want to fold them down, I suppose it would work but I would prefer them shorter. December 22, 2014

I recently ordered 3 more pairs of cashmere socks and hope the problems I exerienced in 2011 and early 2012 -- threadbare heels and bottoms; holes near toes -- which reviewers also voiced, have been solved. These socks are warm, luxurious and lovely, but I want them to last longer than 2-3 months! Thank you.

Answer:
These socks have been blended with more nylon for durability. They have been reinforced at the sole, toe and heel.

Answer:
I'm following up to my own question because I've worn the cashmere knee-highs daily in cold countries for ~ 6 weeks. The socks -- denim, wheat and charcoal -- are in near-perfect shape, so reinforcements seem successful in toe and heel areas. I've been unusually hard on these socks, but none have holes, thin areas or are threadbare. I'm so confident in improved quality that I ordered 4 more pairs today. Thanks!

My advice would be this: If you want durability, buy socks in a wool/nylon blend. Cashmere is a luxury fabric, like silk, and is not known for its durability, just its soft hand. Treat them gently.
