JOB TITLE: Studio Manager

Garnet Hill, a growing high-end multi-channel marketer specializing in original designs in clothing and home décor is seeking a Director of Product Quality to join our team.

JOB SUMMARY: Support the Manager of Photography Production with responsibilities including photography production, Photo Studio management and administrative duties as assigned.

  • Assist Manager of Photography Production with Photo Studio operating budgets; maintain the budget on assigned shoots on a daily basis and provide updates regularly
  • In collaboration with the Manager of Photography Production, prepare and monitor the Photo Studio budget and capital expenditures, making adjustments as needed
  • Manage travel and prop estimates; manage photography equipment spreadsheet to work with photographers on approving their equipment rentals.
  • Review and approve all studio invoices and all studio operating invoices.
  • Manage equipment and computer inventory, including cleaning and repair
  • Manage on-call employees and independent contractors hiring process, orientation, training , and scheduling to ensure parameters are followed according to HSN and Human Resources guidelines.
  • Welcome new crew members to Photo Studio by coordinating an onsite orientation/tour and providing exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Coordinate Photo Studio vendor services (plowing, repairs, cleaning, alarm, etc.)
  • Work with Photo Studio Coordinator and Sample Room staff to prepare for all NH-based shoots including organization and distribution of shot list, layout paperwork for all studio teams, posting schedule of shots as needed, ensuring sample delivery is coordinated on time, and monitor calibration.
  • Schedule and attend photo shoot-related meetings as needed
  • Manage opening, closing, and weekend schedules for studio staff.
  • Schedule and attend bi-weekly touch-base and post-production meetings with Manager of Photography Production.
  • Work with Photo Studio Coordinator to ensure daily posting of images to FTP site; sourcing local resources such as locations, props, hotels, catering and assistants; manage and organize prop and set building inventory.
  • Work with Premedia team on updating the asset-workflow manual as needed
  • Work with on-set Art Directors during shoots to ensure all images are shot according to shot list/layouts; ensure timely execution of shots while managing late changes.
  • 2+ years experience as a creative Photography Producer or Photographer
  • College degree or equivalent work experience desired
  • Experience working in a high-quality catalog and multichannel retailer environment within the apparel and/or lifestyle brands a plus
  • Proficient in MAC and PC operating systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Knowledge of photography and photography equipment a plus
  • Outwardly positive with a service-oriented approach

  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing team environment
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and some weekends
