Fall is all about creating a cozy, welcoming space as the temperatures start to dip. We asked Carmeon Hamilton to share her tips for creating a relaxing fall bedroom oasis using warm autumn hues. We love the way her guestroom transformation turned out. Here’s how she approached the space:
Garnet Hill bedding is in constant rotation in our master bedroom, but I started eyeballing pieces in Auburn and Baked Clay colorways over the past few weeks and knew they would be perfect for our room update. Now that we’re heading into fall, not only was I thinking of warm colors, but warm layers.
No matter the style of bed, I always incorporate the following items into my ensemble to amplify the luxury and look: fitted sheet, flat sheet, sleeping pillows with cases, quilt, duvet/coverlet, throw, and decorative pillows or shams.
For this bed, I started with the luxe foundation of a Relaxed-Organic-Cotton Sateen Flat Sheet and Fitted Sheet. They’re incredibly soft and versatile staples for any bed.
Then, I layered on the Isa Stonewashed Organic-Cotton Blanket in Baked Clay and incorporated the matching lumbar pillow. This blanket is one that you’ll want to pull off the bed and drag with you into other lounging and living spaces. It has a versatile weight for all seasons, and you’ll want to buy several to stop stealing from other rooms.
The next layer is a repeat design that we used (and fell in love with) from our bedroom. The Relaxed-Linen Quilt is an ideal piece that provides comfort and warmth without adding bulk. I decided to go with the color Oatmeal to coordinate with the natural linen color of the bed.
The Auburn-colored Cotton-Velvet Pillow and Brushed-Cotton Throw in Ivory complete this look. These pieces tie all the patterns and tones together.
I’m so excited about all the love you guys have shown our guest bedroom. I’m so proud of how it turned out and have snuck away a few times for a nap or two…or three.
