January 2019
The newest kids’ swimwear collection has arrived and it’s filled with favorite silhouettes (many with UPF 50+ sun protection), plus brand-new, fashion-forward looks we think you and your littles will love this season.
Here are some of the best trends we’ve spotted on the horizon:
Gone are the days of simply choosing a tankini, one-piece, or bikini. With all the unique styles and shapes now available, kids can express themselves not just with a pattern they love, but also in a silhouette that suits them. You’ll see it in off-the-shoulder ruffles, cute cutouts, and peplum tops.
Cover-ups have come so far. This season is all about styles that take kids from the pool to a playground or birthday party with ease. Look for unexpected twists on the traditional cover-up, like a ruffled romper, a sporty racerback dress in swimsuit fabric, and a lace-trimmed dress (that looks great with sandals).
Coral is a huge trend this season (it’s also Pantone’s color for 2019!). It’s popping up all over in fashion and home for spring, and kids’ swimwear is no exception. The cheerful shade is super fun — and especially stylish mixed with white and cool ocean blues.
For a classic look that is somehow always fresh, stripes offer a timeless nod to nautical. You’ll see them this season both in traditional navy and white, and in more unexpected colors.
As sun protection continues to be a top concern for parents, more and more suits have rashguard styling built right in. Look for it in one-pieces as well as tops, including long and short-sleeve designs that segue easily from the beach to backyard play.
