If summer camp is in store for your child, your packing list is probably well underway. Wondering what you might be missing? We thought we’d share some of our favorite finds for outdoor fun — even if those adventures happen to be in your own backyard.
While applying and reapplying sunscreen is a must, it may not always be top of mind for kids (especially if you’re not there to remind them). Getting them in the habit of wearing a rashguard ensures a little added coverage for sensitive skin.
Water shoes and sporty sandals
There are so many water-friendly shoes today (remember when we were kids? Two words: dirty sneakers). Some are just for swimming, while other more rugged styles will take them through the entire day. Check your camp’s packing list for footwear recommendations to determine which will work best for your child.
Part style statement, part sun protection, hats are essential for shielding little faces and eyes. Baseball and trucker styles are always on-trend favorites.
Whether it’s well-loved from the schoolyear or brand-new for start-of-summer adventures, consider a backpack to tote extra layers, water bottles, and more on hikes and daytrips. Our eco/ergo backpacks are designed to fit just right and made from recycled plastic bottles.
Footwear requirements may vary, so be sure to check, but we think a pair of flip flops for the shower is a smart move.
Their own pillow in a cozy case
At many camps, bedding is provided, but we like the idea of bringing along a just-right pillow for a little touch of home at the end of the day. If there’s no room to pack a pillow, maybe tuck in a favorite case.
