3 stunning Instagrammable spots in Santa Barbara

From breathtaking beaches to lavish gardens to Spanish-inspired architecture, Santa Barbara is as photogenic as they come. The city sits in the heart of one of California’s stunningly beautiful wine regions and is known for its foodie culture.

We set out to explore the city with our two travel companions, one being Jessica Camerata of My Style Vita and the other the Garnet Hill Cashmere Wrap (ideal for coastal California). Together, we found 3 must-see stops that are truly Instagram-worthy.

1. Chromatic Gate

Situated along the coastal bike path on Cabrillo Boulevard, this colorful landmark is sure to get you some likes on Instagram. The rainbow installation was designed by renowned artist Herbert Bayer, who spent many years living and working in Santa Barbara. The giant rainbow frame gives you two beautiful perspectives: looking through from one side, it frames the gorgeous mountains, while viewing from the other side highlights the scenic beachscape.

2. Paseo Nuevo Tile Steps

The Paseo Nuevo plaza is hotspot for shopping in the city. While you’re here, we encourage you to find this colorful stairway made up of intricate Spanish tiles. The view from the bottom is stunning, and fully captures the beautiful Spanish-style vibes for which Santa Barbara is known.

3. Lucky Penny

In the heart of Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone, a neighborhood of boutique tasting rooms, restaurants, galleries, and contemporary shops, a one-of-a-kind wood fire artisan pizza stand does anything but blend in. This food-truck style stand’s walk-up counter is completely covered in pennies. You can’t help but snap pictures outside this unique spot — not to mention, their gourmet personal pizzas are pretty photogenic as well.
