The velvet is a nice weight - not too heavy or thick, which makes the jacket look well-made. It hangs well from shoulders and hits at a nice place in the hip area. I’ve gotten compliments on it and one co-worker remarked that the velvet looked really nice, and had to see how soft it was! It works with jeans, dresses and work pants. Great purchase; I bought it when there was a sale offered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Paradis from Elegance in Velvet This is a beautiful, champagne wheat color. It fit me very well, and appears relaxed yet sophisticated. It is gently structured. I love the simplicity of the shawl collar and the drape. It is lightweight, so I will be able to wear it all year except the hottest part of the summer, when I’ll be glad to have it inside for air conditioning; or the coldest part of winter when I’ll choose an overcoat. My husband really likes it, so that is an extra point for me since he has great taste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KLFE2020 from Beautiful jacket This is a beautiful jacket that can easily be dressed up or down. It looks and wears exactly like the photo. It is seasonally just right -- warm, but lightweight to wear. I am 5'4" and had the sleeves taken up a half-inch to make the fit perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Blue Ridge Firefly from Timeless holiday luxe I purchased this jacket thinking of late fall, winter, and (especially) holiday events and gatherings. I like that this jacket will not make me too warm at a gathering with many people like a sweater might. The casual cut is a nice counterpoint to the luxe, glowy sheen of the velvet. Since I tend to dress casually, the way this blazer was styled on the model is to my liking...with darker jeans and a pretty tank. However this could be mixed skirts, dresses, and dress pants and look more formal. I love it! For reference, I'm 5'2", 119 lbs, and purchased size S in the "sand" color.

The shoulder pads were more substantial than I was expecting for an unstructured style, but certainly not a deal breaker. I'm usually a 4/6 on too and I went with the 4. Great fit.
