Pendleton Eco-Wise Wool® Washable Blanket is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to do ... Hard to do but I gifted this marvelous blanket ... difficult but yes, to my son and daughter-in-law for their anniversary. Not only is it great to keep and use yourself but makes a terrific appreciated gift. It is beautiful, practical and will be used if not forever, close to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blanket! Very warm, and nice enough looking to put on top of the bed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, heavy weight blanket The blanket is great quality, substantial weight but not too heavy. Very 'wooly', somewhat rough feel, but very warm. It looks beautiful as on the pictures. I did not wash it yet, but I suspect washing will make it somewhat softer. Even my husband likes it as a throw on the bed, because it feels cozy without overheating. I think it will become a heirloom in our house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed This blanket offers warmth without being too much. It'll be great for spring, fall, and as a supplement in the winter. In the winter I need a bit more warmth, so needed to up my comforter game. But in the spring and fall, this is great with a light comforter. I haven't washed it yet, but am hoping it'll be a great, long-term investment. Good value when on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect weight I just bought this and laundered it prior to using; it is lovely. The weight is perfect, not too heavy for spring and not too light for cold, rainy nights. It's convenient on the end of the bed where I can reach for it if I'm chilly during the night. Sadly, the dog just loves it and she takes every opportunity to jump on the bed to lounge!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this beautiful blanket! Weight is perfect—not too heavy or too light. Beautiful fabric, feels great (not itchy). Love the plaid. Generous size. Pendleton quality never disappoints. I plan to buy more. (I have not yet washed this blanket so I cannot speak to how it hold up after washing).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made The Old School Way Beautiful blanket. I was hoping to use it over our light down but was TOO warm. Even on its own but we both sleep Hot with the window open all winter. Even though a real keeper. My son and daughter in law used it over their down Christmas week and loved it. How to impress the in laws, LOL Down and wool, unbeatable. Also just beautiful over the back of the sofa. This is heirloom quality ! I washed it a couple of times per previous reviews and it softens right up. I did fluff on ultra low in the dryer and then hung to dry. Be aware wool has a scent when damp but it leaves when dry. Also, I got it on sale which made it THE best deal ! I highly recommend this one ! Wool that’s washable ? ...gotta have one, buy with confidence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pendleton Eco-Wise Blanket is More than Expected This Pendleton Eco-wise wool blanket was made in USA ... very important to me to support domestic manufacturing. Although machine washable, it does need to be line dried ... which can be difficult if you don't have an outdoor clothesline or long balcony railing. I've waited for years to buy one until I could get a color to coordinate, in this case the slate heather. If you look very closely, you can see blue and green fibers. So, it coordinates beautifully with my blue-green (aqua) color-scheme. It does not feel scratchy over my flannel sheets. It's oversized (king) and fits like a bedspread on my platform bed, so I don't tuck it in at the bottom or sides. The combination of flannel sheet, wool blanket, and lightweight cotton quilted coverlet is the perfect weight and warmth for us while the bedroom is 69-71 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST blanket! Bought this blanket as we are always chilly at night despite the stack of blankets on our bed already. It took the wool one to do the trick! It really insulates the bed very well. I even got my son & daughter-in-law one for Christmas as well. I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luxurious Such a beautiful blanket! We are really enjoying the weight and feel of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and dresses up the bed I usually use a coverlet or quilt over a blanket, but the Fawn Heather Plaid does double-duty. Yes, a bit scratchy out of the package, but I washed in our machine and it came out soft and wrinkle-free. This is a very functional and attractive addition for our guest bedroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Basic Blanket This blanket is great for fall/spring and in the winter as a layering blanket. Yes, it's scratchy, but after it's washed it softens. Like very much that it's made in the US. I have two of them and would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed This blanket has exceeded my expectations. In the fall we don't like to use our down comforter, even though we have one heavy and one light. The temperatures fluctuate too much, so it is nice to have a blanket and a bed cover to peel them off if necessary. This blanket is just the right heaviness, warmth and we love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Good as The Reviews This blanket is beautiful and I love the blue. It is a little itchy but that seemed to go away after one use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Light I was worried the double size would be too heavy for me as I tend to overheat...but no worries! It's very light and also beautifully finished. I am very satisfied with this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy bliss from an iconic American company I'm so pleased that manufacturers have begun to realize that there is profit to be made from environmentally responsible practices! And, as a very important side benefit, this blanket is very suitable for those who are hypersensitive to the dyes and fabric treatments used on most other woolens. Good year-round weight and beautiful whipstiching detail. I will be ordering a couple more next season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Cozy I love this blanket! It's fairly lightweight but warm and cozy for the winter. I bought the espresso, which is lovely rich brown, and it's generously sized for a queen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent blanket Have had this blanket for about a month now and loving it more & more. In fact, thinking about buying a second one. It's a bit stiff & scratchy out of the box, but softening with each use & wash, and the quality can't be beat. Also surprisingly warm and a perfect weight: just enough to feel cozy, but not weighed down. A note on the color though: I ordered the grey plaid, and the stripes are not yellow, but a dusty rose. Not obnoxious (and I am not a pink person), but not yellow. I think the overall grey color is a bit paler than in the picture as well - FYI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it. In fact, I bought a second one for another room already. Only problem, I don't want to get out of bed in the morning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep warm Excellent quality blanket with a good fit for queen bed. Just purchased second blanket. First one is few years old and still like new. Gets softer with each washing.

What is done to the wool to make it machine washable?

Some manufacturers such as Smartwool will use a type of glue to seal the wool hair shaft closed to make it washable, there are other techniques as well, what is done to this wool? Is the wool from organic, pasture raised sheep? Thanks
Asked by: intactavist
The wool is not noted as being from organic sheep. However, the blanket is C2C (Cradle to Cradle) certified. The wool is treated with a resin finish. A thin layer of resin coats and smoothes the wool fiber surface, preventing the fibers from becoming interlocked during the laundering process.

Can you put these in the dryer? If so, what setting?

Just bought 2 of these. Tag says washable and "line dry" tho web site says machine dry. Has anyone had success putting in the dryer? What setting?
Asked by: jlbee
You can tumble dry these on a low setting. They will shrink a bit more if you tumble dry rather than line dry. We found, with tumble dry on a low setting that the item shrunk an average of 5% in both the width and length.

On your website taupe heather appears lighter than fawn heather but this is the opposite on Pendleton's website. Which is the lighter beige?

Asked by: NWislander
We have checked our swatches and the Taupe Heather is lighter than the Fawn Heather.
