Lightweight Cinched Trench is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Just received my coat today and am very happy with it - it will be perfect for Europe in October.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and perfect fit I have been looking for something I could just throw into the car in case of rain. This is the perfect trench. The cinching in the back makes it slimming, length is great, arms long enough, and fabric is of good quality and does not wrinkle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light weight rain coat I am 5’3”, 34-28-38. Bought the small and live it. It is roomy enough to wear a light sweater if needed. It is a lightweight material that is very soft. I had no trouble with the zipper sticking. You can pull the elastic waist if you want to more fitted. Planning a trip to Portland Oregon and this will be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I wore this in a drenching rain walking dogs for 4 hours. I stayed completely dry. It is so thin I was skeptical, not any more. Great!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for warm or temperate wet weather I read the reviews before buying and some posted that this raincoat was "plastic"? That is not true. This raincoat fabric is essentially the same as a windbreaker. Knowing this- I think the brown color is probably more appropriate. It fits really well with the conch waist and the 2 way zipper and snaps. I just received it so haven't had the chance to wear it in the rain yet but think it will do a good job with at least limited exposure to torrential rain. It is NOT plastic. It's good quality construction and worth the price( I bought it on sale)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from In between sizes I tried the medium (I usually wear size10-12), but it was snug at the chest (I'm a 38B). The large was looser and slightly big. OK with cinching it a bit more. Love the brown color. Rating would be 5 if it was a 10-12. I had no problem with the zipper if I zipped carefully. (This was a common complaint I read about in reviews.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works For Me! So glad I followed the positive reviews. This coat has done well in the spring rain, and even helped keep me warm, with layers underneath. The hood is a plus too. Yes, because of being lightweight...zip slowly so you don’t get fabric caught up. So lightweight, this will be a great travel piece to pack. I got the taupe, color as shown. I’m 5’9” slim, size S is perfect. Pricey, but got it on Sale of the Day. I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kept Dry I bought this a month ago because of the immense rainy season. It works well for me because it is strictly for rain protection. It has no liner, so it’s perfect for wearing a light garnet underneath. The hood has a draw string do it stays put.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from lightweight cinched trench the overall size was smaller then I had expected. Because the coat is made to go over other items of clothing I thought there would be more room in the Large I had ordered. The style is adorable and I will keep it because I like it but there will be no clinching at the waist.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from dusty taupe is really brown I ordered the taupe jacket and received a "light brown" labeled coat which I don't see offered. I am keeping it but I think the color should be adjusted.....there is nothing dusty and nothing taupe about this brown jacket...it's not light brown either.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute but not practical Unfortunately, this coat is not very waterproof and is a little oversized.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The material was too lightweight Great color and style but the material was too light weight. I steamed it but when I tried it on the crumpled look was back. I don't want to be known as Columbo so I returned it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to love but.... This is the second lightweight raincoat I have ordered from GH which has missed the mark for me. Ordered reg. size XS, (5'7", 117-120lbs). Fit was good - roomy enough for thick sweater but the style was just all wrong on me. The cinched waist hit too high - about 2 inches above my waistline and I just looked like a sack of potatoes in it. Such a shame as it was just the right weight I was looking for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I opened the package and tried it on. The zipper stuck immediately. On a second try the zipper stuck again. Meanwhile it felt like I was wearing a plastic bag. The anorak seemed not to breathe at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cute but with problems This is not what I expected, and I’m trying to decide whether to keep or return it. The pros: it’s a cute cut with good features like pockets inside and outside and the back vent. Also supposedly it is water repellant (and not just resistant like a similar jacket at a comparable company). The cons: it is super thin with no lining and two out of for times I have tried it on, the zipper has jammed. There seems to be a design flaw so that part of the fabric of the jacket gets caught in the zipper unless you are careful not to let it happen. Wanted this to serve as a light jacket/ raincoat combo for a trip oversees in Feb, but will probably send this back and keep looking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as expected It's plastic with no lining. Very thin material, can tear easily. Huge, must size down. Very disappointed. Not worth the price.
Date published: 2019-01-17
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too flimsy I was unable to zip the jacket either up or down because the fabric is so thin the zipper kept getting caught. Can't imagine how I'd keep dry in a sudden downpour.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Raincoat hated it , really cheesy nasty fabric, not at all like the catalogue picture , fit was lousy too , real disappointed in GH

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Purchase Generally I have been pleased with the quality and styling of Garnet Hill purchases. This trench was not one of those I am sorry to say. The zipper is very difficult to use. The fit was odd even with the adjustable side straps. The color was nice and the weight would have made it a great piece for travel but the negatives were too much for the price point.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sizing and quality The quality of fabric and fit of garment are not as pictured, and do not justify the price of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad. Choice The coat was to thin it appears to be heavy but wasn’t. I return my coat I was disappoint.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so Good I bought both the Medium & Large size to find the right fit. I'm 5'9", 135 lbs. Medium would be fine for summer; Large if you layer mid-weight sweaters, etc. Did not keep either one & here's why. The fabric is super thin; no "body" to it hence the zipper does not zip well; jams constantly, getting caught in the weather flap and inside material. Aggravating!! Love the design, though. Would like to see this re-made in slightly heavier material with better support in critical areas. Sent both Med & Large sizes back. Sad.....

. How do you keep the zipper on this coat from sticking?

Asked by: Go birds
We tested our sample and the zipper moved without any issues. There is a panel of fabric behind the zipper that may be caught if it is in the zipper's path but we zipped and unzipped the coat several times with no pulling, snagging, or catching.

The description says below knee length, but the pictures look like the length is just above the knee or at the knee at most. Which is it?

This jacket is designed to hit at or just below the knee. For complete garment measurements we suggest checking the "Fit & Measurements" tab for this item on our web site.
