I bought this advent calendar several years ago and it has become a tradition. My eight year old son still gets excited when he sees me hanging this along our staircase banister every December 1st. Friends and family always comment on how cute it is and several have bought one of their own. If you don't have kids you could fill it with little notes to your hubby!!

So Lovely & Sweet!
I have been eyeing this advent calendar for the last two Christmas seasons, by the time I decided to order it last year it was out of stock. I ordered it this year as soon as it became available! It is so lovely, soft handmade wool mittens and hats just the right size to stuff with little sweets and small gifts. I was concerned about the color mentioned by other reviewers, but the colors are the same as shown in the catalog, very "natural dye" looking. I would equate it to a carpet made of natural fibers using natural dyes as opposed to synthetic fibers and dyes. I am thrilled with it! I can hardly wait to surprise my little ones on December 1st. They will be delighted as they count down the days! Don't miss out like I did last year, order it already! You'll be so glad you did.

Way Too Cute!
I ordered this and absolutely loved it when it arrived. It is even more adorable in person and is very well made. We hung it up in the hallway and my two year old loved to get up each morning to find a little treat in one of the mittens or hats.

Great over the Bed Garland
I enjoy decorating my bedroom for the holidays, with the red dot flannel sheets and comforter on the bed. When I added this as a garland hung over the bed, the room looked so cheerful and inviting!

One of my favs!
My sisters and I had all eyed this for some time and when it became available for the holiday presale I jumped on it. It's a great holiday decoration, unique, warm, fun, etc.. Like some of the other reviews, I would agree that the colors a bit different scheme than what appears in the picture (a bit deeper), but great nonetheless. Do purchase, you will have it for years.

I have been eyeing this in the catalog for two years and finally indulged myself this year. I wish I had done it earlier! I love the way this string of mittens looks hanging from my fireplace mantle. It is so charming and sweet and is by far one of the best holiday decorations I own. I got compliments on it the entire time it was displayed and can't wait for next December!

Worth the wait!
I was lucky enough to order this item when it was featured as the Sale of the Day and couldn't be more pleased with it. The colors are a bit muted, but it blends perfectly with my decor and makes such a cheery addition to our mantle. I'm looking forward to making this a tradition at our house and can't wait to start stuffing the mittens with little treats during next year's holiday season!

Fantastic Advent Calendar
I just love this advent calendar! Adressing the color concerns mentioned in the other reviews, my advent is exactly the same as the one photographed here. The colors are teal (not royal blue), mustard, brick red, cream, dusty pink and green. The colors are very "earthy" and not your typical primary colors. I love them and they fit in well with my decor. It is a great size & stretches the entire length of my mantel. The mittens and "hats" are a great size to tuck things (not too small that you can only do candy!). To give you an idea of size, the mittens would actually fit a toddler! Beautiful, it is hand-made and it looks it. It does not appear mass produced. It truly is a family heirloom that I am glad I purchased.

Nice quality
I tried ordering this item last year, but they ran out. The hats and mittens are bigger than I expected. The colors are not as pictured in the catalog and online. However, they are still beautiful, just more muted. This advent calendar is a treasure.

My sons love it
Last year my sons found this hanging in between two windows overnight, filled with tiny presents and messages and they were so excited that they designed the family Christmas card around the hats and mittens, holding the two ends and dancing with it in the garden. They already started to mention it wondering what will it contain this year.

Great Heirloom
We bought this advent calendar 2 years ago for our grandson. He was a baby and last year it was hard finding toddler safe items that fit in the hats and mittens. This year he's 2 1/2 and I have already started finding items. Much easier this year!
The quality is such that he'll have it as an heirloom to pass on to his children.
It looks great draped across our mantle. We're lucky to have him close enough that he can visit each day to get a treat.

I bought this last year because they were all out of the advent elf I wanted. This turned out to be better. It was adorable hung on my fireplace, and really nicely made. The colors are beautiful and varied enough to go with most decors. We love it. Skip the old fashioned candy, though. Sold by the box last year, it was stale.

This is adorable! I can't wait until the holidays when I can display it! I'm shopping around looking for little goodies to put in the hats & mittens. It's just adorable-I keep taking it out and looking at it, holding it up, wandering around deciding where I'm going to put it, etc. It will be enjoyed for many years and handed down to the next generation.

The Best Advent Calendar
This is absolutely a holiday keepsake. I have always admired knit handcrafts and that is what this is. The opening of the hats and mittens are generous enough to get a small jewelry sized box inside. I think the picture in the Winter Wishes catalog page 6 & 7 does it justice. You really get a sense of how substantive it is. This is a holiday heirloom that you will look forward to using year after year!

Well made, not quite as I imagined.
I’d been looking at this Advent garland since last year. It had great reviews. I find it it a bit disappointing. Colors are not very bright and mitten openings are small. If I hang it high, my grandkids can’t reach and it’s length makes hanging low awkward. It is pretty! I’ll try to find a better way to hang it next year!

Such a unique piece!
After watching this item sell out 2 or 3 years in a row, this year I made sure to order early. I love it’s whimsy, chunky appeal. The red is a bit more of an orange red than I expected, but beautiful quality. It would t are forever to make one of my own. Buy it!

Perfect for my Grandchild!

As noted in other reviews, the colors of the mittens were not what I had hoped. The red is especially muted. The mittens and hats are also smaller than I had expected. I kept the garland because the quality is good, I especially like the fair isle pattern.

Pointy Mittens
I returned the Hat and Mitten Advent Calendar because the hands of the mittens are knitted into a point. I did not care for the looks of it. The quality was fine, however.

want to send this to my daughter studying abroad. Will hats/mittens hang straight if I fill in advance & send to her? (will they tilt/spill?)
Am just trying to figure out how realistic it is to make this a special treat as the semester drags on for her far away from home. they look wonderful & have great reviews, but no one talks about any tricks to actually keeping giftees in the little hats and mittens--maybe only lightweight things work? something else?
I was going to send with command hooks, as she can't use nails or tape. does that sound sensible/effective?

We would recommend lightweight items to stuff the hats and mittens. The hats/mittens may not hang straight depending on what is in them. It sounds like a great idea to add a little festivity to her dorm room.
