Garnet Hill Essential Down Blanket and Throw is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 441.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty perfection! This is perfect for us when the room is between 67 and 72f. It might work when the temperature dips further, but we haven’t experienced that yet. We got it when one of the colors was on clearance, so it was a great value. The king size is generous, and the fabric is tightly woven (no loose filling). Great quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy and just right amount of warmth for Florida This is my second and third down blankets from garnet hill. I love that they are not so puffy and heavy like a comforter. I moved from Pennsylvania and live in Florida now and still want down, so this is a nice compromise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight warmth Love my down blanket. So light but warm. Easy to lay another quilt or blanket on top when temperature drops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, warm, beautiful Bought 3 of these blankets. My lucky day, on sale. I didn’t get the color I wanted, but it doesn’t matter —the blanket is so great! I also appreciate the occasional sale opportunities—keep them coming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely throw! Not too heavy, not too light - it's all wool - warm pastel natural colors (slightly different colors on each side). Exactly what I was looking for as an added layer for our California winters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! I have used down blankets for at least 40 years. This is the perfect weight for Southern California from fall to spring. It's so light on the body. I got the king blanket in Citadel and the color is rich and beautiful. The construction is top notch. I was alittle concerned because of reviews of feather loss and crinkly noise. But I have had no feather loss in the few weeks I have had it and it is hard to believe that the little crinkly noise is an issue. I love this blanket.

Can you tell me more about the difference between the blanket and comforter? They both have 550 fill and  for a twin and the difference in size is 68” vs 70” - is the comforter really that much warmer?

Asked by: LBTC
The main differences between the Essential Comforter and Essential Blanket are size and loft. The blanket is larger and is often used as a layering piece on the bed whereas the comforter, having more loft, is often the top layer of the bed. Both provide the same amount of warmth.

What is the texture of the covering? I have trouble with my current blanket which is slippery -- the bedspread slides right off the bed. Is this one pure cotton without any sheen?

Asked by: Sandy52
The shell of this blanket is 100% Long Staple, Combed Cotton. It has a smooth finish but is not shiny or slippery. It is an excellent layering piece for your bed.
