Garnet Hill Essential Down Blanket and Throw is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 510.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect weight & warmth! My partner sleeps hot, while I get cold at night, so we use a down blanket instead of a heavier comforter plus I have a throw-sized down blanket as an extra layer on my side of the bed. Both are light and warm without being too warm. We got the celestial blue and I love the deep, rich color so much that I painted the wall behind the bed the exact same shade!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for This down blanket is the perfect weight to make me and my warm-sleeper partner happy. We switched from a comforter that was much too hot after looking for a long time for the perfect one. Pleasantly surprised by the pretty color and softness too. I think we'll use this most of the year here in Maine (except maybe June, July, & August). So happy with my purchase!.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't deny these are the BEST So, prior to these colored down blankets, I would use one white down blanket with a duvet cover. Big pain in the butt to get those duvet covers on and off. My partner hated me for it. I got one of these down blankets on steep sale a few years ago, and since then I have become somewhat addicted to these! I have throws and bed-sized blankets for all the rooms in the house. I always buy the sale colors and love them! Here in Arizona they are perfect warmth/weight in the winter with GH's Supima flannel sheets (it does get cold in the desert - low temps in the 30's this upcoming week!). There are always enough for guests and anyone in the house who wants one. They are warm without being too hot, wash beautifully, and the colors are beautiful. Contrary to other reviews I've read, I've never received one that had any strange odor to the feathers or any problems. Any "crinkling noise" does not bother me, as any down blanket or quilt will make that type of sound and I hardly notice it. Love these! Please don't mess with the quality or anything else about these blankets, GH!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential Down Blankets I have ordered at least 8 of these in the past few years. Warm, lightweight, comfortable. They are the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice individual blanket I purchased two down blankets because my husband and I prefer different sleeping temperatures. I think the blanket size works great for us because he tends to push his to the side and it would really annoy me to wake up with no blanket. I haven't had them long but so far the quality is good and they have held up fine in the washer. I purchased green and dark gray and the colors are very accurate to the photo. Happy with the purchase.

I just got the down blanket. As it comes all folded up in plastic, it is wrinkled when out of the bag. How do I get the wrinkles out?

Asked by: Kathie J
We suggest washing and drying the blanket before use. If you don't wish to wash the blanket, tumble dry it on low and fluff to remove some of the wrinkling.

Can you tell me more about the difference between the blanket and comforter? They both have 550 fill and  for a twin and the difference in size is 68” vs 70” - is the comforter really that much warmer?

Asked by: LBTC
The main differences between the Essential Comforter and Essential Blanket are size and loft. The blanket is larger and is often used as a layering piece on the bed whereas the comforter, having more loft, is often the top layer of the bed. Both provide the same amount of warmth.

What is the texture of the covering? I have trouble with my current blanket which is slippery -- the bedspread slides right off the bed. Is this one pure cotton without any sheen?

Asked by: Sandy52
The shell of this blanket is 100% Long Staple, Combed Cotton. It has a smooth finish but is not shiny or slippery. It is an excellent layering piece for your bed.
