Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this down blanket We use a heavier down comforter with our top sheet during the winter months, but it's too hot for late spring to early fall. We did have a cotton blanket but still felt chilled some evenings necessitating another layer. We tried a down blanket when visiting a friend's summer home and were immediately hooked. I knew Garnet Hill had beautiful colors for us to pick from and we found one perfect to match our bedroom decor and sheets. Very pleased with it. would recommend this to anyone looking for a light summer layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, light comfort This is just the right weight and warmth for my bedroom upstairs. I love the boxed structure, keeps it's shape with a simple fluff, and is lovely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Too Heavy Or Hot I wanted something light for summer. This is it. Since I’ve received it I’ve used it nightly.

I just got the down blanket. As it comes all folded up in plastic, it is wrinkled when out of the bag. How do I get the wrinkles out?

Asked by: Kathie J
We suggest washing and drying the blanket before use. If you don't wish to wash the blanket, tumble dry it on low and fluff to remove some of the wrinkling.

Is there a difference between the essential down blanket/throw and the essential down comforter in terms of loft (thickness).  In terms of warmth?

Asked by: Kathie J
The comforter is more lofty. The comforter and the blanket provide a similar amount of warmth.

How is the duck down sourced? Are the ducks killed or is the down simply collected. I would like to know prior to purchasing the blanket.

Asked by: mrnic
The down is a by product of another industry.

Can you tell me more about the difference between the blanket and comforter? They both have 550 fill and  for a twin and the difference in size is 68” vs 70” - is the comforter really that much warmer?

Asked by: LBTC
The main differences between the Essential Comforter and Essential Blanket are size and loft. The blanket is larger and is often used as a layering piece on the bed whereas the comforter, having more loft, is often the top layer of the bed. Both provide the same amount of warmth.

What is the texture of the covering? I have trouble with my current blanket which is slippery -- the bedspread slides right off the bed. Is this one pure cotton without any sheen?

Asked by: Sandy52
The shell of this blanket is 100% Long Staple, Combed Cotton. It has a smooth finish but is not shiny or slippery. It is an excellent layering piece for your bed.
