What is the difference between this down blanket and the down comforter
The comforter is smaller than the blanket and has more fill. It is meant to be loftier and is often used with a duvet cover. The blanket is a bit larger and is sometimes used as a layering piece on the bed.

How is the "essential down comforter and throw" item different from the "essential down comforter" item? why is the former item less expensive? Looks like same fill level(?)

Are these warm enough for the winter or strictly a warm weather blanket
This blanket is all season. It is wonderful alone for warmer months and is a great layering piece for very cold temps.

Fantastic blanket!
I just bought this but I am already in love! The down blanket is light and warm — exactly what my husband and I were looking for. I bought the beige color and it’s nice — and so is the fabric. Would definitely recommend.

Feathers who'd of thunk is the fix
Cozy Coolness.Perfect for 70-90 degree N W WA summer, where with water frontage night temps drop to 55. Butter yellow is lovely and doubles as a bedspread. Feels wonderfully silky and huggable cushiony. I am age 78 and chill easily, thought I needed my normal cashmere, took a chance on this my first down cover, It is well made affordable. I happily like using it. It shipped well pkg and timely.

Another A+ down blanket from GH!
We have had a pale green Garnet Hill down blanket on our bed for 20 years or more; we love it... it's perfect. We have heavier down comforters but never really need them, even in winter. When I saw the GH down blankets were on a great sale in the brighter muted clay color, I bought both D/Q and throw and LOVE them. They brighten up our newly renovated bedroom which is decorated with many GH items... thank you!

Warm enough but not hot!
My other Garnet Hill down comforter is so lovely and suddenly way too hot for this phase of life! The down blanket was a perfect solution: warm enough in my chilly house but not too hot at all.
