Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Classic Tortoise Readers Eyebobs make the best readers!! Yes, they're very expensive but totally worth it. I had to replace the pair that I've had for 15 years ( my house pair ) for a stronger lens and these are perfect. Last year, I purchased a stronger pair for my purse and when I put them on, I always receive compliments. Also - highly recommend Eyebob sun readers for beach and travel!! You won't lose these because you'll love them too much!! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Ophthalmologist examined my Eyebobs About three years ago I bought my first pair of Eyebobs. I took them along during my annual eye exam. My Ophthalmologist examined them and replied, “I’ve seen a lot of readers but these are the best I’ve seen so far”. So, now I own four pairs of Eyebobs, in different colors and designs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brainy Look! I bought the eye bobs and was so excited to have a fashionable pair of readers to wear for a change. The sad story is that I lost them within a month of purchasing them at an event I attended. I tried to recover them but to no avail.

Could you give me Width length of classic tortoise and the dark tortoise? Reviews are saying the classic tortoise is smaller in width than the others. I would just like to compare actual measurements of each.

The frame widths do vary slightly as well as the lens size. The Classic Tortoise measures 5 1/8" in width and the lenses are 1.75" W x 1 3/8" H. The Dark Tortoise measures 5 9/16" wide for the frame and 2" W x 1.5" H in the lenses.

What is the style name Eyebobs gives the Dark Tortoise readers?

Asked by: Eyebobs
I purchased from Garnet Hill, online, the eyebob frame "Butch" in the last year. At time of purchase, GH referred to the Butch frame as "Classic Tortoise"; described as having a "scholarly"look. "Dark Tortoise" was a totally different frame, with its own eyebob company, frame-name. As I write this, "Butch"/Classic Tortoise, is the frame displayed in both pictures of the (two different) women wearing the frame.

I was told by two optical stores that the lenses could not be replaced with prescriptive lenses, which is contrary to the description. Any advice?

The rationale from the optical store was the bevel of the lenses were cut too differently to convert. Is it possible to have progressive lenses installed? The frames are so beautiful.
Asked by: christine001
All Eyebobs frames are optical quality, which means a qualified optician can replace the lenses. Not all frames work for all purposes. It is up to the optical store's discretion to determine if your prescription has any specific restrictions and that the frame you've selected fits you properly.
