Essential Straight Jeans is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful fit and style! These jeans fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I liked them so much I bought a second pair in a different color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No mushrooming! I’d like a couple more pairs in different washes and lengths!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these jeans I purchased these jeans prior to Christmas fully expecting them not to fit and then returned. I am pleasantly surprised. They fit nicely, even at the waist. The waist rests where it is supposed to and is not sticking out like most pants. They are snug at first yet don’t stretch out ridiculously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They are so comfortable I love them so much that I wear them all the time. They're better than my Lucky Jeans, which I thought were the best. Not anymore. Thank you Garnet Hill for all of your outstanding products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jeans I bought these just over a month ago. I got a 2nd pair in a lighter color too. My husband even commented on how well they fit, albeit they are not 100% sexy because they are not super tight... they are better than your average "mom jeans" and they fit very nicely and the fact they are organic seals the deal for me. I am 5'7" and 130lbs fairly straight build and these are nice because the length required no hemming, the waist is fitted without being too too tight, the hip and butt area has some extra room on me but not too much to make them ill fitting... and the straightness in the leg area is perfect I almost got them confused with my skinny jeans once. Oh I got the 27 size... I wear a small in athletic clothes and about a 2-4 in most shorts or pants sized that way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some nice features These are definitely comfortable jeans. The dark indigo has whiskering in the front but no distressing. Soft fabric which is 99%cotton and 1% spandex. I did not expect that fabric content to stretch so much after wearing. Especially in the butt and waist. I like them for comfy jeans but will make sure if I wear them out to have a tunic length over them!! If they go on sale I might try a smaller size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good color to add to jean collection These are true to my size and the light color will balance my extensive jean collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jeans that look good on a 70 year old It has just enough stretch in the jeans to fit well yet not too tight.
Date published: 2019-09-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from stylish and comfortable I like these jeans a lot. They are soft, with a bit of stretch to them. My only complaints are that the faded part on the thighs is more pronounced than in the picture and that the waist is too big, leading to gapping in the back when I bend over. This is a problem for me with many pants -- I have a proportionally smaller waist and larger thighs. But I would definitely recommend them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit I ordered size 30 and wish I had sized down. The jeans were a little loose but I thought they would shrink some. They really didn’t shrink and stretch out quickly when I wear them. That said I like the style and fabric, will likely order another pair size 29. I am 5’4” and 135 lbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for me I really wanted to like these jeans. I’m usually a 6, sometimes a 4 (5 foot 6, 110 pounds, pear shape) but when I exchanged the 6s for the 4s they were still too “gappy” in the waist. I don’t feel like trying a 2, partly because I suspect they might be too tight in the rear then and partly because I’m tired of the back and forth. The material seems decent but I’m just not feeling these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Run really big I have several pairs of GH jeans from a couple of years ago that I wear ALL the time, and I was really hoping that these would be the same as my older pairs...but these run REALLY big. Frankly, even with a belt on these look pretty silly on me, since the waist is a couple of inches too big. I guess that GH has changed their sizing from a couple of years ago? It's a bummer, because I've washed and worn these jeans, so now I can't return them (and I kind of wonder whether a smaller size might not fit right, either?).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic jeans These are your basic mom jeans which rest at the belly button on me. I purchased a size 14, my usual size, and they’re generous. As I was not looking for anything stylish, They work for me.
Date published: 2019-10-31
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Large and high-waisted I wear size 16 pants pretty consistently, but this 16 was too large. And because the waist is higher than it looks in the photo I won't bother trying the 14. Also, like all denim these days it is spandexy.
Date published: 2019-10-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super soft stretchy I love the dark wash, comfy stretch and softness but my pair rund huge! By the end of the day I can pull them on and off like sweatpants (which they are just as comfy as sweats). But I must wear a belt to keep them on. I did by my regular size.... so I advise sizing down.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Look good, but could be better. Bought these a month ago. I like the fit, style and color. However, they tend to stretch out when they are worn which changes the fit.
Date published: 2018-11-30
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Run large Purchased usual size 12. At first fit well but after about one hour they started to grow . I did not exchange because not sure if the 10 waist would be too small. the jeans are as pictured, but might be better with a lower rise.
Date published: 2018-10-23
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overall, eh The jeans are okay. The length is short therefore when I sit down, they ride up too high on my ankles. Loose fit.

My favorite jeans of all time are yours...however, these look a bit different from what I have. For the new school year I am hoping to purchase a couple pair of jeans. I want to replace my jeans RN# 102826 or the other #30645. Are these jeans the same?

Asked by: HeatherKTu
We compared the jeans you love (#30645) to our current collection and found two potential matches. We suggest trying #45241, our Essential Straight Jeans as they are closest in sizing to what you have. Another option is our Essential Slim Jeans #45240. To view all available sizing information, click the "Rise and Garment measurements" tab for these items on our web site.

What's the diameter of the calves for these jeans? Some of us have thick calves and don't like how skinny jeans feel, but don't necessarily want to go to a boot cut. Straight jeans can go either way.

Asked by: dwebarts
We measured our sample size 30 jeans and the calf has a diameter of approximately 15 inches.
