I like it!
I like this rug a lot! It's neutral, with natural variations of beige, is wondrously thick and soft underfoot, and seems well-made. It's true that it needs vacuuming to manage the shedding, but I expected this so we'll see if after a while the shedding slows down. I like how luxurious it looks in my living room, it's got an interesting, pebbly texture which is a nice compliment to it's unassuming, beige-y-ness, and ties everything together nicely. No one is more surprised than me, that I'm so pleased with this purchase.

Beautiful rug
I quite like this rug. It is dense and feels wonderful under foot. Being that it is wool, I suggest a good vacuuming upon receiving, as it does shed. But I have to say that I believe this is high quality and a lovely neutral colour.

Soft and pretty, sheds way too much
I love the soft feel of this rug, very nice for a cozy bedroom. The gray color is nice, a little more of a beige than true gray. But this thing sheds like crazy, giant tufts of wool and shredded wool fibers all over just from refusal use like people walking on it. I’ve vacuumed it 8 times and it shows no signs of stopping. It basically requires me to vacuum the room every day to keep the hardware floor clean of wool. So that’s a pain. If you are less picky about shedding, it might be for you, but i would not have bought it if I’d known how much maintenance it required. Plus with this much shedding how much rug will I have in 6 months? My vacuum is full every time I vacuum this thing.

Weave is too loose, not dense enough.
The weave is not as depicted in the photos/description. Too much open space between the loops. Wool is soft, color a medium-light grey, not a problem there. Another Big problem with this loose, high pile weave is that it should be vacuumed with a machine without the beater bar. Unable to use my Shark Liftaway upright! A pain to return, but I probably will.

Didn't work for me
I found this rug to be very thin of wool. There is too much space between the tuffs. Either the manufacturer should have used twice as much wool, or else they should have made the threads half as long but twice as many. But they have tried to make a luxurious long-fiber rug while going way too skimpy on the wool. When you stand barefoot on the rug, it doesn't feel thick and spongy, not at all. Also I was not wild about the color--kind of a muddy beige. The computer monitor shows the color pretty accurately--I guess I was hoping it would be a bit different in real life.

Is this rug 100% wool and where is it made? Are there mixed tones in the coloration? In the photo it seems more of a flat brown color. Thank you.
This rug is 100% wool and is made in India. The color "Natural Sea Salt" is an off white/light beige.

Is there any odor or off-gassing of chemicals with this rug? I am sensitive and need to stay away from harmful chemicals and this is a large item to send back.
Eileen Fisher Un-dyed Chunky Wool Rug has very slight off-gassing upon arrival due to the adhesive used between the backing and the front.
