How about those recycled leather rugs??
Recycled leather rugs, especially those with the muted palettes featured in the Garnet Hill catalog, are the perfect solution when you're tired of the same old, same old textures and patterns of traditional rugs. It's great in the bedroom! Soft underfoot, varied in color, although clearly a "solid" color and great on both a wooden floor or low-pile carpeting. It's different, but not for difference's sake and a wildly underestimated carpeting solution. Price is very reasonable, too!

Beautiful texture and color variations
I bought the natural colored rug in the largest size about the month ago. Delivery came faster than promised. The rug is made of pieces of leather a little like the rag rugs of the 1950’s but the effect is modern and goes nicely with our contemporary furniture. As others have mentioned it isn’t the softest rug on bare feet and it is a leather rug so not really designed for a high traffic area. We don’t have pets but I wouldn’t want a big dog running across it. Ours is on a light colored marble floor and under an bent glass table to it really softens the room and adds texture and complements the leather furniture in the room. I thought the quality for the price was a good value.

Beautiful rug
Was not sure what this rug would be like being recycled leather. It has beautiful colors-almost looks like waves. The rug is soft, somewhat bumpy on bare feet, but lays well on the floor.

Beautiful and unusual texture and colors
I bought the silver colored recycled leather rug followed a week later by the bluestone color. Both are, essentially, elegant rag rugs. The size (7 x 9) happens to be perfect for both my main public rooms, but the bluestone looks better on natural wood and the silver, a concrete color, looks better on the dark gray floor. I was told over the phone that the bluestone is quite blue, and it definitely has deep pastel blue threads and edging, but the overall tone is charcoal with undertones of blue. Interestingly, the silver reflects the colors of the room, and I happen to have an interior blue porch ceiling, so it shows more blue than the bluestone. Highly recommend both, especially with good rug pads under them. Great price, too.

Great Features
I bought this 2 months ago and am so glad I did. I do think it is a bit fragile. Requires shaking out and no vacuuming!
Date published: 2019-08-11
I really want to buy one of these but, it says NO vacuum. I have a cat and I know this rug will be full of cat hair. Any thoughts on this? We have a Meile Canister Vacuum so I guess I can't use it on this..... Help?
This rug can be vacuumed but the care instructions state to avoid a vacuum with a beater bar.

Without a rugpad underneath, will these rug stain our wood floor over time? thank you
There have been no reports of the colors staining a wood floor. We suggest using a rug pad with this rug to prevent slipping.

Will this work under a dining room table?
This rug will work well under a dining room table.

When I pick the color for the rug does it still have the striped border?
The border of the rug has edges with 1" woven cotton self-finish ends from warp
yarns. So while not an actual stripe, the woven cotton gives the appearance of a subtlety striped edge.

Does bluestone appear more grey or blue as a whole? Also silver looks kind of white. Is that the case?
The Blue Stone color is a true blue slate with light gray woven throughout. The silver appears more silver than white.

We’ve had this beige entry rug for a year and it gets regular vacuuming but wondering if anyone has had success sending it to the dry cleaners
We have not attempted to dry clean this rug. The recommended method is professional cleaning.

The bluestone color looks to be shades of grey, charcoal, black on the website pictures. Is this a charcoal rug or a blue rug?
The Bluestone rug is shades of blue with high-low color variations. This rug is made from hand-woven strips of recycled upholstery leather and no two rugs will be alike.

I just ordered the Natural color, and what came was much lighter than pictured, labeled “beige” and had green and light tan leather weave. Did they send me the wrong product, or does the Natural have a greenish hue?
Yes, you did get the correct color it is different shades of beige and some do have a greenish hue.
