Coated-Cotton Quilted Jacket is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely made Grab this on sale! I love the gray/green color and the sizing is perfect. The jacket is fairly long in back, which isn’t a problem for my 5’7” height, but may not work for shorter people. The hood is perfect as it doesn’t drop over my eyes and should keep the rain out. It is just warm enough for in between summer and winter. It also looks great without the hood, showing a very attractive stand up collar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a favorite piece This jacket has become a favorite piece of mine. I'm short-waisted so it's often hard to find good fitting jackets that aren't petite styles. The longer length and the straight fit would also work for a longer-torso'd person. This looks great, and it covers a wide variety of weathers. It's perfect for spring and fall, those cold days of summer and those warm days of winter. I love this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Nice color. Well made and a classy look. I like the longer length in the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great midweight jacket I was on the hunt for a jacket that was lighter than my winter coat but still substantial enough for cool, early spring days. This is it. It's comfortable, looks good, and feels high quality. The sleeves are a little long, but they look fine rolled up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! It is perfect for me; color and fit. So stylish! It's me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! Sometimes the best way to make it through winter is to have fun coats! I love this coat! It’s not super heavy, so you can layer if necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat Love everthing about this coat. The med is perfect on me at 5'8" 140 lbs. Love the length, coated fabric, removeable hood and roomy pockets. Like that it has both snaps and double zipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised!! I read all the negative reviews and held my breath when I submitted my order. I'm average height and usually order GH size L or 12 for most things, but for this coat, I decided to order size 14. I have many quilted coats from the usual suspects - John Partridge, Barbour and Burberry and this one really measures up to them all. I also like to wear oversized sweaters and untucked men's oxford shirts occasionally ( thanks to Covid Casual dress), and this is the only lightweight car coat that I own that nicely conceals the sweater/ shirt hem - big bonus ( for me ) ! That said - I can definitely see why the cut of this coat wouldn't work for some people - I had my doubts, too ( believe me!! ) - but when it works, it's a really great looking coat w deep pockets and a handy inside pocket for your phone. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality Live in Minnesota. Looking for a warm lightweight coat. Good quality, well made. Liked the green. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect The fit is true to the guidelines for fitting on the website. It is a very comfortable jacket to wear in 40 degree weather with a sweater underneath. It is so light weight but keeps a windy day at bay.The pockets are large and roomy. The length covers just enough of the leg to provide extra comfort. I hope the manufacturer of this jacket will design more outerwear for Garnet Hill

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for yard work I bought this coat to use for fall yard work in the rainy Pacific Northwest. It's perfect for this purpose. I'm not inclined to use it for anything else. It will hang by the backdoor! It is generously sized and the fabric is coated - please note this before you buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Lot of Coat! I returned this because it was way bigger than I thought it would be; and the color was darker than the picture. (It was a deep caramel.) I really appreciate Garnet Hill's return policy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice transition jacket! The brick red is a Lovely color, it’s quite water resistant, roomy enough to wear a sweater under....still a little stiff, but glad I got it. Not sure why it was on sale, but the other colors weren’t. Lucky me

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for wet cool weather I live in Northern Michigan where we have many wet, cool days. This jacket seems perfect for this weather. It’s got lightweight warmth. I like the longer back (although it is a lot longer than the front). I would have preferred the green but only the dark orange was available when I got it on sale. It’s a workin the garden, walk the dog jacket for me and one I would only purchase at the sale price

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprised! After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this jacket. I did though and was pleasantly surprised. It fits true to size, is warm but not too warm, love the color and the softness of the lining. If I were to find one thing that I would like to see improved upon, it would be the coating. It just could be lighter in my opinion. The thickness makes the coat a bit stiff but not uncomfortable at all. The hood has no problems as far as I can tell. I took it off for the autumn. May use it in winter. All and all, I was pleased with this jacket. Just for comparison, I have ordered the coated linen jacket in the past. I absolutely love it. It’s my go to jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Much larger than expected I bought the khaki coat in size 12 and it was huge and way too long! It overwhelmed my petite frame. The color was accurate but not very flattering for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hooded Jacket with waxy coating I found this ran really large. I didn't like the coating which made the texture of the jacket feel uncomfortable, so I returned it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Coated Quilted Jacket Better looking in photo, less polished IRL. Also too big so will be returning.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Style I wanted to like the jacket but the fabric is a bit stiff and the “droop” hemline emphasizes my backside in an unflattering manner. Perhaps if I were taller I could carry it off. The lining is soft and comfortable. I am going to alter the jacket to list up the “droop” hem. I think then it will be “just right”. I bought larger size to allow for layering.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wish it worked for me. I have long arms so buying an item that isn't a tall is a hit and miss with coats and jackets. I wanted this jacket to work. The overall look is nice with a clean line look. The snaps an zipper color is a nice offset from the muted rust color. It does have an odd feel to the fabric, but to me, nothing you couldn't get used to. The problem for me is the arms are too short while the body of the jacket is huge. Sad to say, it's going back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure I just received the jacket. I like the brick red color, but I purchased my regular size--12--and it is just too snug. I'm exchanging it for a 14. I'm tall, on the thin side, 160 pounds. Hope this helps!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice car coat. I like the fit of this coat. I too was surprised at how stiff the coating made the coat. I’m hoping in time it will soften. I even washed the coat twice before I wore it, to stiff for my taste. I will keep the coat because it has the features I was looking for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice transitional coat I bought this coat thinking it would be a great raincoat for days when it isn't pouring hard but I need some protection from the elements and a little warmth. Unfortunately, the write-up says water resistant and it isn't. A very light rain will quickly penetrate it. So, don't get it for rain. It is a nice coat though for early spring walks in New England. It isn't super bulky and keeps me warm. I love the green color. I am keeping this for days with temps in the 40s-60s.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wanted to love it.. I loved the color, fit, weight of this jacket. However, if you need the hood & walk inside & want to push it off, it will not fall in place. It sticks up & I looked like I had grown a second head. With shipping & then the return, I lost quite a few $$.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So disappointed! I've been looking for a cloth coat with a hood for autumn/early spring. I'd been looking at wool coats but hadn't found anything I liked. When I saw this, a cloth coat, with a hood, that was waterproof, I thought I'd hit the jackpot. The color of the coat is a really unpleasant green-ish version of the color shown. The fabric is stiff and smelled. I'm really really disappointed and couldn't return it quickly enough.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing This coat looks good but feels stiff, like wearing plastic.
Date published: 2021-04-02
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bulky Fit Great quality and comfortable fabric with a soft lining. Most of the photos online show models wearing the coat open in front, and it looked cute like this, but when I zipped it up I looked like I was wearing a tent. Agree with another reviewer that the hi-lo cut of the bottom was a bit odd - swoops a little too low in the back so the proportions looked odd.

I normally wear a Petite Medium or size 8. Would it be best to get a size 10 Regular in the jacket, or would that be too large even with clothing underneath?
