Boiled-Wool Hooded Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delightful jacket I am in love with this jacket. Jackets, actually, because after receiving the gray, I also ordered the port. As described, it is not a heavy, bulky, winter coat. It is a lighter option, for fall or spring, or for California where I live. The wool is warm and cozy with a bit of stretch which enables the jacket to feel a bit like a sweater with a lot of charming style. Love the hood, love the pockets, love the off-center button. It looks great (and keeps me warm) buttoned all the way up, and also looks good with top button open. Both colors are lovely and the sleeves are long, for warmth. It can be easily layered for colder days, or less so when you just want to wear a very cute and cozy jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning and Warm! This is a gem of a jacket, so much nicer and warmer than a fleece or cotton hooded jacket! Plus this jacket flatters no matter how you button it (fully buttoned, unbuttoned, just top button fastened). I purchased the Port during a sale in early autumn, and I have been wearing it almost everyday. Being petite, I especially appreciate the princess seams for a slim, non-sloppy fit. The light-weight boiled wool fabric drapes beautifully and adds little bulk. This jacket is fully and nicely lined (including the pockets), except at the end of the sleeves, which allow me to cuff them for a custom length. I purchased my regular size, which fits perfectly for layering. I have been wearing it over a sweater and under my winter coat on bitterly cold days. I am thinking of purchasing the Carbon also as the color is so versatile and a light-weight (and lined!) wool jacket is a rare find. On sale, this jacket is an exceptional value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great between-season jacket I receive compliments on this coat every time I wear it. I bought the "port" color and it's really beautiful. The coat is light-weight but since it's boiled wool it keeps me warm. The hood is a plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Right I live in California and this jacket is perfect for our version of cold in the winter. It is definitely warm but not too thick, and the hood is great in case it drizzles. The material feels high quality and the it looks more "polished" for when you don't want to wear a sweatshirt or fleece jacket. Fit seems true--I am 5' 1" and 119 lbs.--I got a size 6 and I can wear a medium weight sweater underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice fit This jacket has nice slim lines. Although it's not available in petite sizes, the shoulders are not too wide for me, and it is easy to turn up the sleeves, as the lining doesn't go all the way to the ends. The fabric is a lighter weight than I expected - less structured - but the lining helps. Should be a useful fall jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish design The jacket is soft, stylishly designed and lightweight. The color is between a dull burgundy and grape wine color. It is slimming, while keeping form in the shoulder area. Good for Fall!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty jacket As soon as I saw this in the catalog, I knew I wanted it because it seemed to be exactly the lightweight jacket for work, like a fleece but dressier, that I was looking for. So I grabbed it on Sale of the Day, which helped with the steep price. While I'm not disappointed, it can't be said enough: This is a light, thin garment. It's styled like an outer layer, but the weight is more like an inner layer; you could almost wear it indoors, like a sweater. The styiing and fact that it's lined (or mostly lined) lead you to expect a heavier/warmer/thicker garment, which seems to have disappointed a lot of people. The design is adorable yet practical: closes up to the neck, has a moderate princess cut (fairly straight), a handsome color (the port, a deep maroon), and a hood (something I wanted). The sleeves are wide and unlined below the elbow, which contributes to making it feel light rather than warm. I've only worn it once so far because the winter weather is too cold, so the jury is still out on how well it will work in the between seasons. It is comfortable and handsome on. I have an hourglass figure, so I prefer to button only the top few buttons so there's a little more swing at the bottom, but I can also wear it completely closed. I'm looking forward to when the temps are right to wear this coat; I still think it's adorable, and I'm crossing my fingers that the wool and other nice features will make it function as a decent outer jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Boiled wool jacket I bought this pretty jacket about a month ago during sale of the day, but decided i should return it because it does not meet my practical needs for winter. It is too dressy for me, not a suitable layering piece and yet so lightweight it does not offer much warmth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful construction but lightweight I bought this because I love the burgundy color and have always loved the warmth of boiled wool. It fits well over sweaters, is well made and comfortable, however if you're looking for a winter coat this is more a transition peice than "boiled wool" would suggest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light fall warmth This is not a winter coat, but a nice coverup over a cami and sweater. Living in the PacNW, the hood is essential for flash showers. For me it is less attractive left open in the front, but flattering with a slight A-line when buttoned up. Cozy for flights and classically stylish. True to size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute and Simple—Deep Discount Required I like simple garments and this fits the bill. I bought and kept both colors as the fabric weight is light and the colors are good for my wardrobe. Having said that, both jackets required tailoring repairs to fix the lining that was not properly sewn to the jackets both in the sleeves and body. This created a “bunched” look. This jacket is not expensive looking in any way.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Arrived incredibly wrinkled I had to hang it out for a couple of weeks before I could even try it on for fit. Unfortunately, the right side seemed to be misshapen and uneven compared to the left so I then returned it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boil Wool Jacket I would prefer NOT buying anything from ANY socialist communist country that suppresses its PEOPLE, especially China. If I can not buy American, then at least give me the opportunity to buy from a democracy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really disappointed in the quality I received this coat today, and I'm really disappointed. The material is thin and it looks and feels cheap. The sleeves are long on me, and since they are unlined, folding them up highlights the lack of finishing details. The sleeve cuffs are raw wool with a line of (crooked!) stitching along the edge. I really like Garnet Hill and this is the worst thing I have ever bought from you. I will return it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as expected I was excited to find a boiled wool coat without poly content. The photo shows a substantial coat however this coat arrived and was very disappointing. The fabric is very very thin, the sleeve and hem edges are essentially raw, and the lining is not attached in the sleeves, and only extends 3/4 of the way down resulting in the lining coming inside out when taking the coat off. This garment is not up to the Garnet standards that I am used to, and very overpriced for such poor construction.

I wear a size 4 but this jacket seems big via the dimensions for a 4. Should I get a size 2? Item #46713. Thanks
