Beautiful Quilt
I've purchased 5 of these for summer sleeping. They provide a nice level of warmth/weight, yet not too hot. Colors are very vibrant!

beautiful
I wondered how this would look. I selected the blue and it is indeed a beautiful shade. Almost a purple. LOVE IT! This is the second garnet hill quilt I have bought and I have not been disappointed with the quality and coloring of either of them.

Nice color. Well made. I bought these for a bedroom reserved for Grandchildren... I believe they will wear well.

Not durable
These shams and matching quilt started to fall apart almost immediately. We love the color and the style in theory. The stitches in the quilt started falling apart right away so that now the quilt has several broken stitches that stick out all over making the quilt look old and extremely worn when we have only had it for a few weeks.

Beautiful, but not up to GH standards
I love the wasabi/torquoise quilt I finally ordered for my master bedroom. However, there are two problems with mine. One, as mentioned by another reviewer, is that the stitching is loose and not anchored. The stitching is such a crucial part of the design that missing stitches stand out.
In addition, the fabric on mine seems almost gauze-like. As a result, where there is a problem with the stitching there also is a bit of batting that escapes. I haven't even washed the quilt yet, and frankly am afraid to. I love the look of the quilt and the weight, and I want it to last forever as have all my other GH bedding purchases.
I considered calling customer service and asking for an exchange, as GH customer service is truly wonderful. But, the quilt is now out of stock in the queen size that I need. I will have to hope this lovely quilt returns in another catalog cycle and that I might be able to get a replacement then. Other people seem to find their quilt to be much more sturdy than mine.
Bottom line, it is a truly beautiful design. I think I got an example that wasn't as well sewn, or that might have used a less robust cover fabric.
The design is one I highly encourage GH to continue to produce. The colors and the weight make it a wonderfully versatile quilt. I hope, however, that they will revisit their impeccable quality control, which slipped on my particular quilt.

We're looking for something very light. We now have an old, ugly, but light open weave cotton blanket.

This is a light weight quilt, but should be warmer than an openwork cotton blanket. It weighs 4.97 pounds.6 months ago
