You can dress these up or down with a blazer and jewelry or t shirt and sandals. Great fitting, true to size. They are supposed to have a relaxed look so if you want them more fitting go down a size.

Great shorts
I bought two at full price and another when they went on sale. Good quality, don't wrinkle in the dryer, great fit for me.

Nice basic shorts
I've never bought Garnet Hill slacks or shorts so was not sure of the size. I went by the size chart and the fit was perfect. The shorts are not at all fancy, but the fabric is very crisp and cool. I got the pale gray color because that was all that was left and I really like its versatility with a variety of tee shirts. I'm quite satisfied with this purchase.

Returning
not sure why these are called boyfriend chinos as they fit and look like any women's chino - they actually fit me like normal sizing not loose. i need to go up one more size to get a more slouchy look which is what i associate with boyfriend. these are small in the waist with a looser leg. found the fabric too thin (remind me of bed sheets) which led to lots of creasing in leg and crotch area once you sit in them. not attractive. come out of dryer kind of wrinkled too - i think the boyfriend style could work if you make them looser in waist and hip plus pick a better fabric.

Chino Shorts
I purchased several pairs of these shorts this summer. They are very comfortable and the fabric is perfect for the hot summer days in Georgia! I always look for them first when I am wearing shorts. I plan on purchasing more next summer in different colors.

Good Fit
True to size, travel well, and I am able to get around on the sailboat with easy. They stand up well to the workout and when in port, still look well enough to go up to club house without feeling like I need to change out.
