JOB TITLE: Merchandising Assistant

Garnet Hill, a growing high-end multi-channel marketer specializing in original designs in clothing and home décor is seeking a Merchandising Assistant to join our team

JOB SUMMARY:
The Merchandising Assistant will support the Product Management team in the administrative management of the merchandising and buying process for Garnet Hill's private-label and branded product.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Set up and maintain all seasonal product and offer information in the product planning system; handle communication of all assortment changes to appropriate departments
  • Manage the branded photo-sample process; communicate with branded partners to obtain vendor graded specs, order and track photo samples and manage sample invoices/returns
  • Manage the copy turnover process: request and track the completion of branded-product copy-detail forms; turn over initial counts to the Copy team; pull and format copy document and organize forms and product for copy turnover meeting with Copywriters
  • Review catalog copy and layouts for core information accuracy
  • Assist the Product Management team in the creation and maintenance of branded and Product Development design boards — work closely with Design Assistant on timely updates
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of product reviews, merchandise meetings, product information meetings, ranking meetings and outfit reviews
  • Manage the integration of all departmental calendars that impact the Merchandising team; schedule meetings and anticipate and solve scheduling conflicts
  • Assist with travel preparation/appointment scheduling
  • Coordinate the receipt of end-of-season sales information, including color and size reports, and the Seasonal Sales Analysis recap report (initial and final)
  • Assist the department in sending packages
  • Maintain working knowledge of all categories over multiple catalog seasons
  • Be available for special projects, general administrative duties and other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • 2+ years administrative assistant experience
  • • Associate’s Degree in Merchandising, Fashion or related field desirable
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Working Knowledge of InDesign a plus

  • Interest in merchandising and passion for product
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent follow through
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment
