Tuvalu Handwoven Rug 4 5 4 4
Color is off. I read about the slate color being more grey than it looked (looks slate or taupe in the picture), but I was hoping that the beige would work for me, looking golden and not at all grey in the picture. Unfortunately, it looks quite silver and definitely on the grey spectrum. Seemed like it would look perfect for my new white oak floors even if the golden was lighter or darker, but it's really grey. Gorgeous and subtle, color in pic off I purchased the smaller size and now have come back and purchased the larger size too. Larger one for the living room, smaller for the dining area. The slate color is definitely off in the picture. It is a silver-grey, with barely a hint of brown. But I liked it more than I expected so kept it. The look is subtle but elegant. Sheds but lessens as time goes on. A few unexpected spills and muddy boot tracks made me nervous. Used an eco-friendly cleaner and luckily no evidence remained, so very happy with that aspect. The nap goes every which way, but love that lush look. To get rug back to a more smooth look, just vacuum in one direction. December 29, 2013
Beautiful, But Color Warning This rug is very pretty, however as the reviews mentioned at the time I purchased, the color (slate) is way off. I mean way off. The true color is more a shimmering silver or a very soft, light, baby pale grey. The "under color" is a richer grey. It is silky, bright, and I like how it reflects light in the room. It's also baby soft to the touch and feels luxurious. The quality seems to be quite good. The shedding as mentioned by the other reviewer is true, although I believe this will stop after some use and will not effect the long term look or quality of the rug. November 17, 2013
Still like the rug, but VERY different from pic... I purchased the Tuvalu Handwoven in the darker color (slate?). It appears very dark in the photo, but is actually VERY light grey or almost a silvery white in sunlight. It also sheds a lot, and when I vacuum it, it seems that some of the loops pull out. I am concerned about how this relatively expensive carpet will wear. Having said all this, I like the look of it and if it lasts, I'll be satisfied. March 19, 2013

It appears that the beige rug in the picture is more yellow/gold than it is in the color swatch. I'd like to know if the beige is closer to ecru or more golden. Thanks.

Answer:
The best way to describe this color would be to say that it is a "taupey" beige.

Answer:
This is a short-pile tufted rug (about ¼” deep) with a 1.5” woven cotton facing with mitered corners around the full perimeter. Therefore, it is not reversible, nor does it have a backing. It would definitely feel very soft underfoot.
