Anatomy of a Look: How to Create the Verona Bedroom

How to Put It All Together: The Verona Bedroom
For this room, we built the decorating story around our popular Signature Wrinkle-Resistant Verona Sateen Bedding, and the Newgate Quilt in white. The botanical paisleys on the sheets are classic yet fun, and a textured quilt adds contrast, depth, and dimension, while letting the sheet motif shine.

CREATE A PEACEFUL BACKDROP
For elegance and a quiet sense of calm, we recommend painting the room a soothing neutral shade. Lately, we have loved the all-white room as an option — just leaf through one of our catalogs or visit our Home Gallery online. It’s such a brilliant, sunny look, yet it’s neutral and takes color well. In a white room, you can really make your decor pop.

NIGHTSTANDS THAT DELIVER
Taller nightstands can provide added storage and keep items within reach — they’re exceptionally practical. Here we went with lower-profile tables to create a groovy, modern look where the bed takes center stage. Prop accordingly with a mix of necessities and decorative items to make the space sing. Check out our unique collection of nightstands and accents.

FINDING THE RIGHT BED (IT’S THE STAR OF THE SHOW)
We like to stir things up with a bed that complements yet contrasts with the rest of the furniture in the space. Here we mixed an upholstered headboard with key wooden pieces. Think soft with hard, old with new, light with dark… Collect your favorite things to curate an unforgettable look. Modern to traditional, we have lots of bed options.

BEDDING ESSENTIALS 101
Next, think support pieces. Our philosophy is, if it’s not comfortable, why bother? It’s the details you don’t see — like the bedding basics — that can make or break the room. The pillows, the lofty down comforter inside the duvet cover, the cushy mattress topper — they all add luxurious comfort and make for an inviting bed.

SAY IT WITH AN ACCENT
Add accents and decorative accessories to enhance the space and tell your design story. Are you building a restful haven? Flaunting some global flair? Remember, too much clutter will make the room look smaller. Too sparse and it will look cold and unfinished. Edit smartly and carefully curate your pieces. Rotate pieces throughout the home so there’s something you love in every room. And never underestimate the power of a distinctive decorative pillow or cozy throw.

ART FOR THE FLOOR
Rugs define the space. They add color, texture, interest, and design. In this room, we went with a natural vibe, adding the Wool and Jute Herringbone Rug to the white floor. The right floor coverings can create focal points, define areas within a space, and are great ways to dress hardwood, tiled floors, or even wall-to-wall carpeting.
