JOB TITLE: Vice President - Marketing & Business Development

REPORTS TO: President/CEO

JOB SUMMARY:

The role of this position is to shape the future growth of Garnet Hill by exploring and prioritizing new business opportunities that complement the company's legacy and core competencies while at the same time maximizing our current business and channels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Grow core business by maximizing all aspects of catalog circulation and the web including optimal contact strategy, expanding prospect universe, utilization of non-traditional sources of names
  • Expand brand awareness to ensure that everyone who should be buying from Garnet Hill is exposed to our message. This could include other media, publicity, licensing, strategic alliances and other innovations we haven't thought of yet
  • Integrate new tools, technology and marketing best practices into our on-line business to ensure we are staying ahead of competition and exceeding our customer's expectations
  • Evaluate new channels of distribution
  • Contribute valuable insight into customer and non-customer behavior to other areas of the business especially merchandising and creative
  • Participate in long-range strategic planning and develop shorter-range tactical plans to ensure our continued success
  • Develop and mentor marketing team. Make sure talent is in place, set lofty goals, and ensure that the team and its members succeed and grow
  • As a member of Garnet Hill's Management Board, participate in setting the overall direction of the company, protect its brand equity, respect its culture
  • Work within CBI to share and implement best practices, reduce redundancies, share successes and opportunities
  • Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors degree in related field (MBA a plus)
  • 10+ years in classical brand marketing with a meaningful entrepreneurial experience preferably in the direct to consumer arena
  • 5+ years of senior management experience with full P&L responsibility
  • Consummate knowledge of direct marketing and a student of the industry
  • Mentored by or exposed to true genius or pioneers
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
