Signature Merino Cardigan 4.5 5 1113 1113
Signature Merino Cardigan This is a nice sweater. You need to order one size up, as stated. I like the 3/4 sleeve. You need to pay attention to the cleaning instructions. I washed in cold, delicate cycle. Do not wash it at all. It needs to be dry cleaned! I wore my sweater 2 times and now it is a size XXXS. November 9, 2014
Houndstooth is Charcol Gray Just a note that the Houndstooth sweater is charcoal grey (not black) on an ivory background. Fit is the same sizing as JCrew featherweight cashmere cardigans. November 8, 2014
Versatile, So Soft The little GH cardigans are a real gem. So many designs to choose from! They're perfect for all seasons and such a nice match with black pants or skirt. I adore mine. Sizes do run small. Although I am usually an XS, I do better in an S with these adorable cartigans. November 1, 2014
3 Season Wardrobe Staple Love these sweaters for their versatility across temperatures in New England. Ready to wear right out of bag, with vibrant colors and soft texture. October 30, 2014
Lovely sweater! I ordered the silver with the leaves and beads, and it's even prettier in person than online. Looks fine with jeans or can be dressed up with a skirt. Got it on sale, so am happy with the price, too. Love it! October 27, 2014
Versatile little cardigans... I own quite a few of these from past years, and I enjoy wearing them in all sorts of different ways and for different occasions. I purchased two more early this fall and have received lots of compliments. My only concern - a couple (but not all) of my older cardigans have not aged well, despite following the care instructions, as they have pilled and/or lost their shape. Maybe that is the nature of merino wool? I hope that doesn't happen with these as I like the prints I ordered! October 26, 2014

It seems like a fabric that could handle a cold water wash with Woolite.

Answer:
I have owned two of these sweaters. I wash them on the hand-wash cycle in my washing machine, and then give them an extra spin cycle. Then I lay them flat on a towel. I use have used regular detergent and Woolite with equally good results. Another reviewer said Woolite has bleach -- that's an urban myth. Original Fabric Wash does not contain bleach, oils, phosphates, or enzymes. If you're afraid of the color bleeding or becoming dull, dry-cleaning will help protect the color. But I use the delicate cycle or the hand-wash cycle all of my wool and cashmere sweaters with perfect results every time.

Answer:
Woolite contains bleach and thus is not suitable for washing this sweater. I would suggest a simple soap instead, a clear glycerine soap such as Neutrogena.

Answer:
I used to dry clean them but I don't anymore. Put it on the handwash cycle in your washer (or actually hand wash) and let it dry flat after rolling it in a towel to get the water out. Then a quick iron will do the trick.

Answer:
I'd say it's a very dark navy, not quite black although I think it would work fine with black clothing. The (hidden) grosgrain ribbon on the button placket is a dark navy blue and I don't think the designer would have done that unless the background were blue, not black.

I own 4 of these Merino wool sweaters. I wash them on a delicate cycle, put them in a dryer for about 10 minutes then iron with a steam iron (on the wrong side). They come out perfectly.

Answer:
Merino wool is the softest wool available. Micron count is the indicator of how soft /fine the fibers are; unfortunately, manufacturers rarely provide this information. Look for words like " fine", "superfine" and "extra fine". These terms apply to the lowest micron count merinos, anywhere from 18 mc - 12 mc.
