Lovely dress
Fits very well, true to size, and the underdress provides the right coverage. This dress would be great for a summer garden party and is dressy and modest enough to wear for work.

Didn't fit quite right
I am typically a 10 or 12, and purchased this in a 12. It felt like a hospital gown, although fit correctly in the bust. The cut kind of ballooned out in front and on the sides. The flowery pattern, while I thought it was quite lovely, somehow added to this hospital gown feel. I'm hoping to have better luck with the next Garnet Hill dress I try!

Lightweight
Nice lightweight dress. Not my favorite cut so far from gh but its still pretty. Comes with a nice liner which is great and helps since its low cut.

Nice, but
I'm really sorry this dress did not work for my figure type (I carry my weight around my middle). I bought it on sale recently and was very impressed with how well the dress was constructed. But, all of the loose gathering of fabric around the waistband looked awful on me.

Meh
This dress fit funny on me - I'm mid-height (5'4") and a bit curvy. It looked like a maternity dress and was not flattering on top. Also, I found the material to be a coarse cheap cotton. I gave it to my Mom :). It might be better on a tall, skinny person (like the model in the photo). Print was cute though.

I would go off the size chart and order according to your chest size, not your hip size. You might even get away with a size small, depending on your chest size. I am also 5'6 1/2" and ordered size small. My hips are 39.5" and I wear a 34A bra. I weigh 131lbs. I wear size 6 in pants and size 4 in dresses. For me, the size small fit perfectly. If you weigh more than me, perhaps your bra size is bigger and you might better fit a medium, but again, check out their sizing chart.There is a thin(1/8") rubber elastic around the waist, where the skirt is sewn onto the dress. I do not find it binding or restrictive.
