Beautiful, but some drawbacks

I absolutely fell in love with this quilt when I saw it in the catalog. It wasn't stuffy and bland like so much bedding is today, but it wasn't too loud or eccentric the way some more youthful geared "artsy' bedding can be. I just got my quilt and shams tod and asolutely LOVE the look of it. However, the drawbacks, and reallly the only reason that i rated it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it is much thinner than I expected and a little on the small side. I live in New England, so the weight of bedding does matter, especially come wintertime. Also, I expected, based on the pictures, for the quilt to be a little more generous in size #I am afraid that if I wash and dry it, it will shrink and not cover my King matterss anymore#. I plan to keep it, however, because I just love the look of it so much and it is plenty warm when using in combo with my lightweight down comforter. Also, I will try dry cleaning it or allowing it to airdry to avoid shrinking. Garnet Hill makes the prettiest things, without a doubt.

The color blanket shown is the aqua color in item number 18280 which is unfortunately sold out. The lapis color does work well with this quilt too.3 months ago
