Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this blanket We have been searching for years for the right solution for sleeping warmth. We have tried comforters ( down and other), wool blankets, electric blankets etc. we finally found it! Our winters are cold and my husband is a cool sleeper while I am a warm one...and this blanket is working perfect for us. We both are comfortable ( finally). It does have a tiny crinkly noise on occasion but we barely notice it. Very very Pleased! December 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Essential Down Blanket I ordered the down blanket for winter. Previously, I haven't found a down duvet or blanket that isn't too warm for my husband and me. This one is perfect: light feeling but warm, pretty. We're both tall and sleep in a queen bed. I ordered a king and love it because it's long enough to to pull up over our shoulders, and there's plenty of drape on the sides as well as plenty to tuck at the foot.I haven't found any others like it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great item I bought the down blue throw to use it during the winter in the living room. The comforter material has a nice crisp and the blue color is very pleasant to the eye. I'm happy with the purchase and I will buy another color soon. As a matter of fact my friend liked it when I received it and ordered a full size comforter for himself. Before buying this throw I bought one from another store online which I returned immediately because it looked cheap despite similar pricing. November 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by 6 Stars, Exceeds Excellent This is the blanket I have been searching for my whole life. I bought the down fill and it is wonderfully fluffy and lightweight, but warm enough for winter nights. I love the size of it because it fits generously long on the sides of my King size bed so my husband can't easily "steal" the covers anymore. It washes up well, too, and the down doesn't bunch up. I will be buying another one soon for another bedroom. Thank you, Garnet Hill. This is a winner! November 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect for year round We keep this on our bed all year round and have found it to be the perfect weight for all seasons. Washes and wears very nicely. Love the quality! November 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Essential Down-Alternative Purchased one for daughter's room; now one for us. Husband commented 3 different nights how he likes it. Quality, loft plus he never asked the price [got it on sale]. Makes silk comforter fit better. November 5, 2016

Answer:
The only difference between the blanket and the comforter is the amount of fill and the size. The blanket is a little larger than the comforter and it has less fill than the comforter. All other aspects of both peices are identical.

I can't tell from the reviews if the down or primaloft blanket have a different appearance. I want to use it as a bedcovering for my twin beds.

Both of the blankets would have the same appearance however, the comforter would have the fluffy look that you may be looking for.

These blankets do not have a warmth rating, however, they are very good for year round use and personally, I find them to be very warm.
