Rated 5 out of 5 by Totally loving our new Essential Down Blanket. We are using it as a not so puffy comforter. It is the perfect amount of warmth/weight. I only wish I had purchased it sooner! March 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great buy! I bought this in the queen size, the Aqua Sky color. Nice! Pretty & fresh for spring. I called CS to get advice on warmth; I am in NYC and it still gets cold at night...would this be OK on its own in 40 degree weather? Two reps said yes - and they were right! Plenty warm and the extra size of the blanket helps, too. I think this is a good value, but since GH ship is high, getting a sale or promo helps. I'd buy again and refer others. Also - this blanket was packaged in a zippered, plastic bag that is great for storage. It matters to me that the blanket didn't have a funny smell or rough (starched) texture. I got the core-loft as I have allergies. No problems at all. March 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent value Purchased the Core-Loft version in Turquoise and love it! Beautiful color, well made and very comfy. I love that it's washable and maintains its original color and shape afterwards. March 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality blanket Exactly as described. Very comfortable. Washes exceptionally well. Not too heavy, easy to manipulate. Full/queen is oversized and I love that...everyone has plenty of coverage. Got it on sale but it's worth full price and more. March 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than expected Lightweight, yet toasty! Rounded corners, well-made, color exactly as posted. I usually opt for down-alternative, but my husband and I decided to go for the real thing this time. If you keep your home warm throughout the night, this may get too hot, but if you turn down the heat -- this is perfect! Locks in heat, works great underneath another comforter with duvet. Would love to get the "throw" size to use on our sofa for family movie night -- so cozy. When my daughter upgrades to a larger bed, we will definitely be purchasing one of these for her, too. You can tell it will last for years and it washes splendidly. So far, no feathers poking out like previous comforters from a different company. We're very happy with it, highly recommend. Answer:
The only difference between the blanket and the comforter is the amount of fill and the size. The blanket is a little larger than the comforter and it has less fill than the comforter. All other aspects of both peices are identical.

I can't tell from the reviews if the down or primaloft blanket have a different appearance. I want to use it as a bedcovering for my twin beds.

Both of the blankets would have the same appearance however, the comforter would have the fluffy look that you may be looking for.

These blankets do not have a warmth rating, however, they are very good for year round use and personally, I find them to be very warm.
