Garnet Hill Down-Alternative Comforter 4.7 5 22 22
Nice lightweight comforter I purchased this comforter for my daughter's room and it's perfect. Other comforters I considered did not have 100% cotton covers (this one does) and were bulky and/or heavy. This one is lightweight, yet provides warmth, and fits into our comforter cover just right. Think we'll enjoy it for years to come. August 26, 2014
Goldilocks Approved "Just right" amount of cozy and comfy. Light weight by itself and easy to cover with a duvet for added warmth. I like the poly-fiber-fill. June 2, 2014
Warm and Cozy! I love this comforter! It is warm and squishy. Its great to sleep under and nice to lounge on top of too. It has corner ties to hold your cover in place. (A few ties along the edges of the comforter and cover too would be a great thing to have too.) There are no stray feathers to deal with and no sneezing either! March 12, 2014
Soft, light and warm - great value! Purchased this comforter after dealing for years with an older comforter constantly shedding feathers. This one is almost as light weight as the down and just as warm - a winner. February 11, 2014
Excellent option We have very much enjoyed this purchase. We have down comforters and I am not sure we need them in the future based on how this one feels and looks. January 21, 2014
Next Best Thing to Down I recently purchased this and 2 down-alternative pillows for my daughter, who normally will use nothing but high quality down comforters. She has rescued an adorable little dog within the last few weeks - who is allergic to feathers - so I was hoping this down-alternative would live up to both of their expectations of comfort - and it has! They both stay snuggly warm. Yip - Yip - Yippeee!!! January 20, 2014

I recently bought a down-alternative comforter from a different company & it is noisy/crinkly, even after washing. I am hoping to find a quiet comforter for my daughter. Would you consider this comforter quiet or noisy?

Answer:
Interesting question! I have also bought a down-alternative comforter elsewhere, and found the cover material accumulated, and retained, an unacceptable level of wrinkling; and I remember that I could hear it making a sort of scratchy sound when the material was moved around-- weird. We returned that comforter without ever sleeping under it.
We've been sleeping under our Garnet Hill down-alternative comforter for a month or two now. Its fabric cover is made of pretty heavy cloth, and there's some sound when we turn over or throw the covers aside to get up. The sound isn't at all 'crinkly;' it's more like the sound from a clean, heavy cotton sheet, such as you might find in a good hotel. To me, it's a very luxurious, comforting sound, part of the comfortable sounds of snuggling down into the bed clothes before going to sleep.
I hope this is helpful to you.

This comforter has a 230 thread count with a down alternative fill, we do not belive that this would be considered a noisy comforter.

Answer:
They are very similar. The biggest differences are the shell which 18283 is Combed Cotton & 24408 is Cotton Cambric (they will feel a little different). The fill which 18283 is Primaloft and 24408 is Polyester, the sizes have a slight difference, and the ounces of fill which 24408 has a little more. Both comforters will be great for year round use.
